For several years, Prayers for Healing has been a discreet, compassionate part of our Sunday liturgy. While the Eucharist is administered, members of this prayer group are available in the alcove to the right of the altar to prayer for the specific requests brought to them by any member of the Christ Church community.
The members of the Prayers for Healing group have received ethics training and prayer requests are held in the strictest confidence. However, requests of a personal nature can also be brought to the group as a “specific, unspoken request.” This powerful offering has been used by Christ Church members from every walk of the community, including the pastor and leadership, and has resulted in some startling and wonderful answers to prayers.
Nursing Ministry
The Parish Nursing Ministry of Christ Church Quincy was established in 2009 to support the general health and well-being of the members of our parish, with particular attention to our growing elderly population. We do this by providing information and seminars on issues such as fall prevention, heart healthy living, staying in shape during a chronic or acute illness, outfitting your home for safety, understanding and making sense of lab test results and lipid profiles. Our ministry is not meant to be a replacement for routine health screenings and/or care from our parishioners’ primary care providers, but to provide support and information.
